Vintage Space Shuttle Columbia/ NASA thermo images Press release

SHUTTLE HOT SPOTS--This image of the space shuttle Columbia's heating patterns was taken with an airborne infrared telescope as the orbiter reentered the earth's atmosphere March 30, 1982 after its third flight into space.
The image, which shows about one half of the orbiter, reveals"hot spots" on the wings and temperature. Vintage press release and photo, not many of these out there.
